Sunny sunflowers

Room 13 were very lucky to receive some sunflower seeds from Mark's Mum and Dad.  We planted them and put them in the window where they had lots of sun....  It didn't take them long to grow!  We've sent them home now so that they can be put into bigger pots and hopefully grow really tall.  They will be lovely!  Huge thanks to Mark's Mum and Dad.

A cute caterpillar comes to school!

Aoife from room 13 brought a new "pupil" into our class today ;-) .  It is a big juicy caterpillar.  Aoife found it in her back garden.  She brought it into us so we could have a look at it under the visualiser.  Then she put it safely back outside again.

Thanks Aoife.

Jessie's Biodiversity Fun!!!!

Jessie from room 5 likes to explore lots of things...:)

Look at our photos below:

Together we made lovely funny and hairy faces.

In the picture below, Jessie is exploring with carrots :

In the final picture, Jessie is doing an experiment with eggs! You put an egg into water and it will sink to the bottom.  Then if you put salt in the water, the egg will float on the top of the water.  Finally, if you add normal water to the salted water, the egg will move to the middle!

We had great fun!

Anna's biodiversity poem

Anna O'Hare from Rm 15 wrote this poem. She presented it at the Green assemblies.
Biodiversity
Biodiversity is the best,
Better than all the rest.
Animals need us to survive,
We need them to keep us alive.
Flowers, trees and birds give us pleasure,
So much it’s hard to measure.
Water gives us lots of power
And can turn a seed into a little flower.
